Kris graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1985 and was appointed Assistant US Attorney in 1986. Over the course of the next 30 years Kris served as the United States' trial attorney in a huge variety of civil and criminal cases. Kris retired from federal service and founded the Kris A. McLean Law Firm, PLLC in 2016.  

Now in private practice, Kris offers clients and associating law firms a level of trial and appellate experience unique in the western United States. Kris continues to be an aggressive trial attorney specializing in complex commercial, environmental and general trial litigation. Kris practices law with his partners, Tyson McLean and Jordan Pallesi.
